- Syrians are among the lighest drinkers in the world. A Syrian drinks around 0.2 liters of alcohol per year.

- Damascus, Syria’s UNESCO-listed capital, is one of the world’s oldest continually inhabited cities. Established around the 3rd millennium BC, Damascus is mentioned in the Bible’s book of Genesis.
